What we collect
When you volunteer, send a message, or contribute, we collect the information you give us — such as your name, email, phone number, neighbourhood, and (for contributions) your mailing address.
Why we collect it
We use your information only to run the campaign: to respond to you, coordinate volunteering, and meet our legal obligations. Under Ontario’s Municipal Elections Act, we are required to record the name and address of anyone who contributes more than $25, and to report contributions to the City of Thorold. That information may appear in the campaign’s financial statement, which is a public document.
Payments
Contributions are processed by Stripe. Your card details are entered on Stripe’s secure systems and are never stored by the campaign. We receive a confirmation, the amount, and the contributor details needed for our financial filing.
What we don’t do
We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. We do not share it except as required by law or to operate the campaign (for example, our email or payment providers).
Your choices
You can ask us to update or remove your information at any time by emailing [campaign email]. Note that contribution records we are legally required to keep cannot be deleted before they are reported.
